The Nordic House holds an annual event celebrating one of the old Norse/ Viking festivals. It is part of sharing and education of the early Scandinavian culture and traditions. As part of that additional art, music, sculpture, videos, brochures, games, are created or added to our location. This fundraising section of our website is designed to allow outside backers to help fund different projects or aspects of a larger project that they are interested in. Most of our projects are in-house projects designed and executed by our staff, friends, and/or volunteers. Projects consistent with the nature and purpose of this festival and/or our mission may be submitted by others for review.
Project funding Parameters:
By pledging to a project, you agree to be bound by our projects funding parameters included as part of our Terms of Use agreement, including the following terms:
- All projects ARE NOT “all or nothing” funding. By pledging to a project, you agree to be bound by the projects funding parameters included as part of our Terms of Use agreement. Full details are on this page
- Transaction fees charged by banks are included as part of your pledge.
- Rewards are NOT dependent on reaching the minimum funding goal.
- Rewards are a complementary “thank you” and every reasonable effort will be made to provide them but receiving them and or the timing of receiving them, in part or in full, may be contigent on the stage of completion of each project and/or this years festival date.
- The timeline for receiving rewards ARE tied to projects stage of completion.
- Supporters agree to provide their payment information at the time they pledge to a campaign.
- Supporters upon making a pledge are giving consent to festival promoters and its payments partners authorizing or reserving a charge on their payment card or other payment method for any amount up to the full pledge at any time between the pledge and collection of the funds.
- Supporters payment will be collected at or after the campaign deadline regardless of if the goal was met or exceeded.
- The amount Supporters pledge is the amount they will be charged.
- For all projects, each Supporters User ID, pledge amount, name will be available to fundraising staff only the payment partners will have access to details of actual payments and payment information.
- Additionally if funding exceeds the minimum goal levels we will, as has been part of every festival, donate 1/3 of net funding towards building the local Veterans Cemetery for those that have bravely served. We believe that like Vikings our fallen warriors should be honored. (Net is after providing for any rewards)
**Note: Pledges and/or donations to any project or to the event itself are not tax deductible.
Each project for funding will be completed even if its goal is not met though it may impact the projected date for completion. However each project will have a set funding goal to be reached. It may be exceeded upon where additional stretch goals and rewards may be added. Rewards are a complementary “thank you” and every reasonable effort will be made to provide them but the timing of receiving them in part or in full may be contigent on the stage of completion of each project and/or this years festival date. (IE – If a design or construction still needs to be completed it would not be possible to send a replica of it.)
Backers and funders comments about progress, the theme of the project, enchancements to it or alternate rewards or other input, ideas, and suggestions are welcome. Outside input and suggestions about existing projects or ideas for new ones are also welcome. Submitting of any in no way confirms or suggests ownership of any type in part or full, nor entitlement to any aspect of a project, its funding, or any other type of compensation, royalty, or favors.
If you would like to see other items on it please let us know. If funding allows, and it makes sense, we will either add them to this package or create additional packages as warranted.
